MINI CAKE BANNERS

OMG,  I've had these thought about making these cake banners for a while now. They were just bugging me. So, I am  pursuing it. Finally...... Don't we all want a Happy Day ?

This one was totally inspired by a few things, my love for chocolate cakes, love for wedding cakes, and love for " Sex In the City " episode when Carrie Bradshaw was walking by a shoe window display and says, " Hello Lover ! " C'mon.....You got to say it like she did. It sounds better ! Anyway, it has been fun making these cake banners and the inspirations behind them.

Totally inspired by my great friends daughter's birthday party and her cowboy theme.

Check back often, I will be adding some more themes very soon.

Christmas Mantle

O.K. So I don't have a mantle. I really didn't think I needed  one, until I saw some pretty  fabulous mantles out there.  I have been inspired !  I see one in the near future. Meanwhile this is my version of decorating our Christmas Mantle.

I recently made this wreath out of cupcake liners and half way through the project I realized I don't have much patience for this. I ran out of cupcake liners and  I couldn't find anymore. I had to make do with what I had. In the End the wreath is beautiful, I am glad I did it !

I love Burlap....I've seen these banners pop up everywhere, so I decided to do one out of burlap, not really knowing what I was going to do with it, of course I went searching around the house and found these cute trees I had bought awhile back, I put them on, I think it looks quite cute on the Island Counter. I have yet do a cake with a small banner on it. Coming soon.

As for the So call runner....it's just material I bought at the craft store.
My kids are always fighting on where they're going to sit so I made them these letters, they were so inexpensive, made out of cardboard and fabric, now they each have their own chairs. FINALLY, no more fighting for lunch and dinner.

Thanksgiving

I really thought I didn't have much for Thanksgiving. This is what I came up with, by just going through the house and selecting items I could use. I've used those candle holders on different occasions several times and love to work with burlap, so I've used it as a runner.

Halloween

Halloween 2010 was fabulous, It was my daughter's birthday and she had a great time with her friends and family coming to celebrate with her. Now that she is 10 years old, she took alot of interest in the planning of her own Birthday, from the games we played, to the decoration of  the cupcakes to the bloody eyes you see.

Cake/Food Stand

Ever need a cake or food stand ? I make them all the time for my parties. I use candle holders and plates, things I have around the house. I like to multi- purpose things. I also went to the Dollar Store for the black and white and the green and black stand.
I used this Fix all Adhesive from the Dollar Store
Depending on the plate, if it is heavy or not. I put heavy adhesive or lighter for lighter plates on the rim of the stand. Put a plate on top of the candle holder and then put a heavy book on top and let it sit for awhile. I usually I make them days in advance.
My proudest cake stands are the ones I just made recently for my daughter's Halloween birthday. The black and white and the green and black. Those only cost me $2.00 for each stand, plus paint. I got a clear candle holder and the plate separately from the dollar store and painted the candle holder green and the other black. The plates were bought that way. You could also stack them up, like I did here.
